John P. Harmon, Jr., President
John received his A.B., M.A.T., and Ph.D. from the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill. He founded Harmon Construction
in 1978 and has received numerous awards, including many categories in Excellence in Remodeling and recognition for his work featured in House Beautiful, Wine Spectator, Qualified Remodeler, Citi Magazine, North Carolina Builder, NC Homes, and The Charlotte Observer. John is a NHBH-certified Green Builder and is a member of NAHB, NCHBA, HBAC, HBACRC and NARI.
He has served as chairman of the HBACRC (Home Builders Association of Charlotte Remodelers’’ Council) and is also a licensed North Carolina Home Inspector.
Sandy Shaw, Architect
Mr. Shaw has thirty years of architectural experience encompassing the full spectrum of facilities and a broad range of issues. All of this work involved the creation, use, analysis, and understanding of design and construction documentation. He is currently using ArchiCAD II & 10 for work on residential and renovation design projects. He has co-directed and lectured for a series of seminars presented nationally addressing “The Architecture of Senior Housing” and was the editor for “Energy Design for Architects."
Linda Hutchinson, Ph.D., Day Care and School Design Specialist
Linda has 12 years' experience designing and remodeling early childhood facilities: public schools, child care centers, nonprofit early learning centers and residential “nurseries” and “play spaces.” She brings to these projects a vast knowledge of state and national environmental standards, as well as her design expertise to create safe and attractive spaces for children to learn and play.
Julie Hillman-Kinelski, M.Ed., Office Manager and CAD Designer
Julie has worked for Harmon Construction
for the past 30 years. She oversees all office operations, including accounting and correspondence. Julie also assists with estimating and project management, and with her expertise in computer-aided design, she provides drafting and architectural services, as well.
